Won't get fooled again ...Moon Landing.
by The Rebel inso i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

Why do people think just because man hasn't been back to the moon in 40+ years, it must never of happened? That is faulty logic. After the Apollo missions NASA went to reusable shuttles that were incapable of reaching the moon. It is also very very expensive to reach the moon and the ROI is nill. Who is going to spend 150 billion dollars to collect rocks that we already possess? This is why American government is providing incentives to commercial companies to enter the space program. Unless we establish a colony on the moon there is no reason to return. -

Quality Thinking - Warning: Long Post Ahead
by Viviane inrecently, several threads have had some debate about logic, evidence, critical thinking and skepticism.
i wanted to write a post discussing those things, hopefully to clarify what those things are, why they are important and how to use those tools.
first, logic, at its core, is simply a method for how to reason validly, how to draw conclusions based on a premise.

Lisa that is a good example. Coding has helped me think more logical. -

I must admit I didn't read all 17 pages. But I must inform you're all wrong.
The moon doesn't actually exist.

Caleb very good points. I kept my response short because it is a waste of time arguing with conspiracy theorist.
I too live in Florida around Tampa area.

How big a deal is the royal commission..? It seems to be not much...
by _Morpheus inmy understanding (very limited and maybe flawed) is that this commission has no teeth.
if thats true why would the org care?
send a few lawyers, go through the motions but in the end.... its a dog parking on a porch.

I think the impact for the USA is now the lawyers here have recorded testimony that perhaps didn't exist. The Royal Commission seems to be doing a through job in their questioning.

The Soviet Union was in fierce competition with the US and beat America early in the race. I don't recall at any time the Soviet Union claiming the landing was fake.
With most conspiracy theories I've read they all have one common problem. The sheer amount of people it would take to be involved in the theory. To fake the moon landing would involved thousands of people. All the astronauts, people at NASA, movie directors, prop handlers, ect.. it would be impossible to keep a secret.

There is likely to be two parts to Geoffrey Jackson's Subpeona
by Listener inwe've been focusing on the fact that geoffrey jackson will be subpoenaed to be a witness at the australian royal commission but he will also be required to present a witness statement before his appearance.
even if he continues to wiggle out of the appearance he has no excuse for not presenting his witness statement.. this statement will have to address questions set out by the commission and will need to be answered.
without doubt the answers he is able to be aided by his lawyers and more 'experienced' jws but as he is signing the document they will be his answers and he will be responsible for their truthfulness.. had he shown more willingness to appear prior to yesterday the questions asked by the commission in that statement would not have been written with the same amount of insight that they now have.

What would happen to Jackson if he refuses to respond or show? Couldn't he just leave to New York? The GB arrogance has no bounds, they are known to not respond to subpoenas in the past. -

Did you hear that!? His Honour is insisting that Jackson attend the Royal Commission
by umbertoecho ini actually started clapping at that point, as his honour explained to the wt type creep sycophantic slithery lawyer that........" i understand that we all have issues to face in life and .....that is a part of life...........however it has become obvious that this man ....is in such a position to assist with this investigation.....".
it boils down to the fact that stewart outright accused the latest witness of misleading the royal commission and this lead to some document searches which led his honour to conclude that they had been protecting mr jackson.
this was a warm and fluffy moment folks.................brilliant stuff!!!!!

Jackson will not testify even if summoned. The GB think they are above the law. Just watching some of their videos this year shows how smug they all are. -

Why aren't the Governing Body members being investigated in the ARC?
by Illuminated inwhen there's a malfunction in a product that causes an injury or death, the head of the corporation is held accountable not the salesmen selling the product.
.
why aren't the governing body members being investigated when they are the root cause of the child abuse issues and the re-victimization that takes place after?.

I bet Jackson will not appear. Has a GB member in the last 20 years given any testimony in court? He will probably take a flight out of Australia soon. -

When the WTS saw Catholic Church abuse being exposed
by Simon inthere was a time when the abuse issues in the catholic church were first starting to be exposed.. now, they were fully aware that they had the exact same issues that they too were covering up.. what did they choose to do?.
they could have "learnt" and said "man, that looks bad and we know we have the same problem - but at least we can learn something and put processes in place to make sure we clean up our act".. they could have done nothing themselves but refrained from criticized the catholic church knowing that they had the same skeletons in their own closet.. what did they actually do?.
they wen't full guns criticizing the catholics for something they knew they were completely guilty of as well, painting themselves as 'the good guys where this sort of thing would never happen' but the only processes they put in place were to tighten up how cover-ups were managed and to make sure the local elders knew how to silence any incidents.

I remember a watchtower study in the early to mid 90's that reference the Catholic Church sexual abuse problems. I had no idea that this was happening within the org itself. I was only a teenager then. However I did know about the rules of women are to scream out if they are being raped or they would be guilty of fornication. I knew that if you were molested you were to put it in the hands of the Elders. I knew of one Elder who was guilty of touching those under 18 but he was never dfed, reproved, or marked in the congregation. So even at a young age I figured out this religion was screwed up. So glad I left early and not wasted my life in servitude to these demented men.
